Is the cookie on Tollhouse ice cream cookie sandwiches cooked or is it formed dough?

I was eating one with my girl the other day and we disagreed on this point. I think that they use formed dough, because it seems like the chocolate chips are too perfect, the cookies are too soft, and too dense to be cooked. She adamantly believes that the cookies are in fact regularly cooked Tollhouse cookies. Is the cookie on Tollhouse ice cream cookie sandwiches cooked or is it formed dough?
They are baked. The reason they are so soft and dense is the freezing process + the vanilla ice cream leaches out a bit of its moisture into the cookie. The reason the chips are so ';perfect'; is they are added to the top of the cookie instead of being mixed into the cookie dough. You'll find that the chocolate chips on most pre-baked soft cookies are ';perfect'; for the same reason (Grandma's brand cookies come to mind.)
