no you can go with out cream of tartar.. it is not necessary.. the cookies will be great without it..Is there a baking subsitute for Cream of Tartar?
Cream of tartar 1/2 teaspoon = * 1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice or vinegar
but for cookies, I would just omit it
naaa but if your worried bung in a bit of baking powder 1/2 a tsp should do it!
