Do black appliances go with cream units?

I have just installed a space cream kitchen with an oak worktop. The floor will be something along the lines of wooden floor or coffee coloured tiles. I am just about to buy a fridge freezer and washing machine and am not sure what colour to go for. I have seen black appliances and they look really nice but not sure whether they would go or if not black what should I go for?Do black appliances go with cream units?
~ Rule of thumb for decorating,,,,,3 colors,,,,3 textures,,,,I would say with Cream colored appliences,,,so your colors would be Cream, Oak and the flooring. Textures would be your cabinets,,,floor,,,and your appliences,,,,,,,Do black appliances go with cream units?
unless you like the looks of an old fashion ice cream fountain, would avoid mixing the cream with the black. Could you get appliances in an off-white, is the washing machine visible in the kitchen? If your kitchen counter top and floor were pure white and you had balck appliances, that would be pretty cool, in an art deco kind of way. But with the cream it will look old and dirty immediately. Like you have two different generations competing together.
The black would really stand out. Its up to you if you will like it or not. Get an opinion from your appliance rep. and see if they would be returnable if you didn't like it. Somebody at Lowe's or Home Depot may be able to do a layout for you before you bought it to give you an idea.
Black with wood and cream sounds fine to me, kind of an upscale cafe look. Cream and wood is nice but maybe a little boring.
